Saving, Exporting & Backups
Keep an editable master, then make the copies other people need.

Keep an Attascript! master
Save the working project as Attascript!. Use a clear title and a folder you can recognize. Save As creates a separately named version when you reach a useful milestone. A PDF is a reading copy; it is not a substitute for the editable master.

Check what you are exporting
From the screenplay, choose the desired format in Save As / Export. From a Story page, the export route can ask which Story sections to include. Read that selection rather than assuming it will export only the visible page.
Open the result and check the title, first and last pages, page breaks and any non-Latin text. For FDX or production formats, also check it in the receiving application.
Use a separate backup folder
The linked-folder controls can use a local folder, including a folder managed by your cloud-sync service. Choose a dedicated backup folder and check the on-save and timed-copy options. A sync provider’s upload status is separate from the app’s local file copy.
- Save a named master first, then link a separate folder for copies.
- Enable the backup schedule you want. Make a small saved edit and confirm a backup appears.
- If you use a timed schedule, leave the app open long enough for the interval and inspect the copy.
- Keep a version you know is good before making large AI, formatting or production changes.
